"The 2010 Nation Jazz Awards featured Brass. The final round saw the first prize awarded to Melbourne trumpeter Eamon McNelis. The runner-up Matt Jodrell, originally from Perth but currently based on New York, while the third prize went to trumpeter Nick Garbett."

2009 Awards attracted a record number of entries from around Australia and from the USA, UK, Japan, China and New Zealand. Entries were assessed on a blindfold basis by the judges : Sydney pianist Mike Nock, Melbourne saxophonist Julien Wilson and Perth saxophonist Jamie Oehlers.
